Something unexpectedly soft in a form that is anything but. The pink glaze sits on the dark clay with a gentleness that plays directly against the sharp, sculptural spikes - the contrast is the whole point, and it works. Each vessel is different in where the glaze builds and thins; the spikes pick up colour differently depending on their angle, which gives each piece its own character.
Handmade from rich black cone 6 midfire stoneware and finished with hand-applied clay spikes that create an expressive, tactile surface. The contrast between the smooth curves of the body and the sharp protrusions is the thing - the dark clay deepens the glaze and casts shadows across every detail. Designed to hold flowers or plants, or stand alone as a decorative object.
