Sold as seconds. Each cup is sound and usable, with a small flaw that differs from one to the next - usually in the glaze, such as a thin patch, a spot of extra texture, or a drip that has run thick.
Four different glazes in one set: purple and magenta fading into blue, with bright drips at the foot; a jade green with a yellow-green rim; a deep blue running through ochre and white; and a soft mint flushed with pink and peach. Each sits on a bare clay base.
Each cup is made in cone 6 white midfire stoneware with the glaze applied by hand, so the colour depth and finish are unique to every piece.
