Each side plate is about 15cm wide and 2cm deep, with a low, straight rim that keeps crumbs and a little sauce in place. Next to the dinner plates at 24cm, they're the right size for a bread plate, an entrée or dessert.
Start the day with toast on one, set out cheese and crackers on a few, or bring them out for cake when friends drop by. They're just as handy as a little catch-all for rings and keys on a bedside table.
Every plate is made in cone 6 midfire stoneware and brush-glazed in layers across its face, with the outside left a clean white. Blossom drifts olive, raspberry and apricot across a speckled surface, while Bottlebrush pools sea-green and aqua around a bloom of lilac and berry. Colourways rotate as new batches come out of the kiln.
