14cm tall and 14cm wide - small enough for a windowsill or shelf, big enough for most standard indoor plants. Yes, every planter in this range has a drainage hole as standard. You can plant directly into the ceramic and water freely. If you'd prefer one without a hole - to use as a cover pot, say - get in touch before ordering and I'll make yours without one.
Yes, both. The porcelain is fired to cone 6, which makes it dense and weather-hardy for both indoors and outdoors. Just remember the drainage hole - outdoors that's exactly what you want, indoors you'll want a dish or saucer underneath.
Yes. Each planter is made at my studio in Bellambi, on the NSW South Coast - formed, trimmed at leather-hard, brush-glazed in layers by hand, then fired twice. The brushwork is where each pot picks up its own character. No two are exactly alike.
Most of the standard indoor crowd: devil's ivy, peace lilies, hoyas, ferns, smaller philodendrons, herbs. A 14cm opening takes the nursery pots most plants come home from the shop in, or you can plant straight into the ceramic since there's a drainage hole.
The glazes are abstract and colourful, brushed on in layers, and colourways rotate as new batches come out of the kiln. What's on the page is what's in the studio right now. If you're after a particular palette, email hello@rhiannongillceramics.com and I'll tell you what's coming up.
